NASHO Innovator Awards

NASHO Industry Innovation Award
“Excellence in Technology-Supported Education”

Description: The National Association of Specialty Health Organizations (NASHO) invites any specialty health organization to apply for the first annual NASHO Industry Innovation Award.  This year’s award will be focused on excellence in technology-supported education.  The award will recognize one specialty health organization for innovative programs and practices that use cutting edge technology to educate patients, providers, or payers on health care issues.

Innovations may include software, web based activities, use of devices or other programs to provide interactive education.  Examples of educational activities include programs to help patients understand medical procedures, to assist them in managing benefits or navigating the system, or programs to support a healthier lifestyle.  Educational programming directed to providers may also be submitted for the award.

The award winning organization will be recognized through:

  • Award presentation and announcement at the NASHO 6th Annual Leadership Summit October 21-22, 2008 at the Wynn in Las Vegas, NV. Travel expenses for one executive will be covered by NASHO (up to approved travel expenses for one executive not exceeding $1200).
  • Press release announcing the recipient and describing the award winning submission, to be distributed in the health care industry press.
  • Acknowledgement on NASHO’s Website and key NASHO publications for the coming year.
  • Invitation to present their submission during a NASHO Industry Link, NASHO’s audio conference series, scheduled for November 20, 2008.
